Labels

Purpose

Print bib numbers, hip numbers, and packet labels for athletes and teams from meet data you already have.

Prerequisites

Athletes imported, with bib numbers assigned.
For hip-number labels, the affected rounds are already seeded.
Label stock or thermal media loaded in the printer you intend to use.

The Labels Page

Open Labels from the meet navigation. The page lists everything you can print: the four built-in label families, plus any custom templates you have saved.

Filter the list by:

Source — all, built-in, custom, or favorites
Family — which of the four kinds of label
Search — by name

Star a label to keep it in favorites. Open takes you into the label workspace for that family or template.

The Four Label Families

Family	What it prints
`Athlete Packet Labels`	One label per athlete with bib, team, and optional entry detail. For packets, pickup, and general labeling.
`Bib Numbers`	One large printable bib number per athlete, with optional timing-company branding and athlete identity.
`Hip Numbers`	One assignment label per seeded entry, using the meet’s hip-number setting.
`Team Packet Labels`	One label per team with roster summary, athlete count, and bib range. For team envelopes and coach pickup.

Hip-number labels follow the meet’s Hip numbers setting and fall back to lane or start position when no stored hip number exists. Seed the round before printing them. See Hip Numbering.

The Label Workspace

Opening a family or template gives you a workspace with a live preview.

Here you choose:

the stock — page sizes (Letter, Legal, A4), sheet layouts such as 2 x 4 Packet Sheet and Avery 5160 Compact, and thermal sizes including Thermal 4 x 6, Thermal 4 x 3, Thermal 2.25 x 4, and Thermal 2.25 x 1.25
the label geometry, which stays editable if your stock is slightly different
which records to include
which fields appear on the label

Print sends the current layout to your printer.

Saving Templates

When a layout is worth reusing:

Save Template… stores a new custom template
Save As… stores a copy under a new name
Save Changes… updates the template you opened

Saved templates appear in the same list as the built-in families and can be favorited, filtered, opened, and deleted like any other entry.

This is the right workflow when your timing operation uses the same stock and the same field layout meet after meet.

Recommended Workflow

Finish bib assignment before printing anything bib-facing. See Athletes and Entries.
Seed the rounds before printing hip-number labels.
Open the family you need and pick the stock that matches your media.
Print one page and check alignment against the physical sheet before printing the full run.
Adjust the geometry if the stock is slightly off, then save it as a template.

Common Problems

Problem	Likely Cause	Fix
Labels print off-register	Stock geometry does not match the physical sheet	Adjust the geometry in the workspace and save it as a template
Hip-number labels are blank or wrong	The round is not seeded, or the mode changed after seeding	Seed or reseed the round, then print again
An athlete is missing	No bib number assigned	Assign bibs, then reprint
Team label shows the wrong bib range	Athletes carry inconsistent team codes	Clean team codes on the Teams page
The same setup is rebuilt every meet	The layout was never saved	Use Save Template…

Verification Checklist

Bib numbers are final before bib-facing labels are printed.
Hip-number labels were printed after seeding, not before.
One test page was checked against the real stock before the full run.
Recurring layouts are saved as templates.
